But, lately I am working later and later. I don't have much time to study. One of my senior colleagues said it was because I am lazy that I didn't learn Korean. This made me quite sad to hear, but it's probably true. I think I just need to speak Korean more at work...
Anyway back to Sogang 1a, The section was about future tense - "What will you do?" and the exercise was very short dialogues that gave you the verb that you had to conjugate using ~거예요.
I understood the dialogues (which is a relief, as the text book is 2 levels below my current supposed level) but some of the verbs I couldn't conjugate properly.
I conjugated 사진찍다 to 사진찍을 거예요
but I was confused how to conjugate I will buy ~ / 사다.
I kept wanting to use 샀 거예요 as in the past tense 샀어요.
But of course it should have been to ~살 거예요.
It is fundamental problems like this and major gaps in my learning that cause most of my problems, when placed on the spot to speak Korean, I can usually get the correct base of the verb but getting the tense right is usually an issue for me. The result is I give the verb and mumble a wild guess at the conjugated verb tense and usually end up speaking in English. I really need to fix this. I often remind myself that I have a great opportunity to learn Korean by living in Korea and after more than 2 years I am really regretting the wasted opportunities.
What do I have to do? Memorize the conjugations? - Probably this is the best way...
This is a most valuable resource
I will post a list of the verbs and their conjugated forms, when I have finished reviewing the chapter.
But for those unfamiliar with Korean verb forms and honorific levels, Here it what I am up against
